FINED FOR SHOUTING ABUSE AT GUARDIA CIVIL OFFICERS

A man who shouted insults and death threats at two Guardia Civil officers has been fined 30 euros by a court in Málaga. The incident occurred earlier this month when the man was driving along the Avenida del Mediterráneo in Rincón de la Victoria. It appears that the officers suspected that he had not passed his driving test, and they flagged him down. However, the suspect allegedly took no notice and continued to his home, followed by the Guardia Civil. When he realised they were outside his house, he is said to have gone out onto the balcony and to have hurled abuse at the officers, and to have threatened to kill them. Despite the threats and the claim that the accused was driving illegally, the court found him guilty of lack of respect for authority and ordered him to pay just 30 euros in recompense.
