The 1933 drawing by Picasso, Minotauro, bebedor y mujeres (Minotaur, drinker and women), which was stolen with together with another Picasso drawing, The Painter and his Model, and two works by two Brazilian artists, from a museum in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in June was recovered by police last week. The drawing was found abandoned next to a road in east Sao Paulo, after the police had carried out raids in a nearby slum area. The other three works had been recovered in two separate police raids on July 18th, when two of the suspected thieves were also captured. Security cameras captured images of the three thieves who did not bother to cover their faces during the robbery. The third is still in the run. The four stolen works had been valued at one million reales, some $650,000.
