The Galician National Bloc (BNG) said last week that the national government is guilty of the increased drug-running along the coast of Galicia. BNG spokesman Bieito Lobeira said the government was channelling funds to Customs Vigilance Services (SVA) in other parts of Spain and ignoring Galicia, where the SAV boats are old and the staff are nearing retirement age. He demanded more better trained men and new equipment to fight what he called the alarming increase of drugs – especially cocaine from South America – entering Spain through Galicia.
