The Cadena Ser radio station was revealed last week that 100 kilos of cocaine had gone missing from the main police station in Sevilla about a month ago. The theft was discovered when a lawyer defending a man up on drug trafficking charges asked a judge to order another analysis of the confiscated bags of cocaine which were under lock and key, awaiting orders for their destruction, usually by burning. On opening a few of the bags, court officials found a completely innocuous substance. On further investigation, they found all the bags contained the same powder. Preliminary investigations indicate that the culprit or culprits will be found among the agents on the Anti-drug and organised crime unit (UDYCO) who seized the bags in the first place.
