The Partido Popular has called for an estimated 50,000 homes on rustic land in Malaga province to be legalised to avoid “unnecessary demolitions”. The PP’s deputy for the province, Manuel Navarro in Mijas, said the party will propose the plan at a meeting of the Provincial Government this Tuesday. According to the El País newspaper, the political parties and the regional administration agree that illegal construction has reached such a proportion that solutions have to be found. In the past, the Junta de Andalucía has looked at each case inidividually and has shied away from adopting a single solution, hence the PP’s proposal to legalise all the properties and put an end to the matter, at least until the new Urban Plans are approved in each municipality.
