Two Guardia Civil agents and one Local Police chief were among the 18 people arrested last Friday in an operation carried out by the Armed Forces Institute against drug traffickers. At least 15 homes and bars were searched in El Molar and San Agustín del Guadalix, two small towns to the north of Madrid. The investigation began several months ago and is not confined only to drug trafficking. The El Molar Local Police chief is also being investigated for helping illegal immigrants to regularise their papers. Most of the people detained are Spanish but the group includes one Colombian woman and several Dominicans.
