CAT KILLERS CALLED TO COURT

A Toledo judge has set a date to hear the declarations of three men who allegedly posted photos of themselves holding up tortured and dead cats on the Internet late last year. One of the men, Jaime Ferrero Avila, had stood for the Partido Popular in last May’s local elections but was expelled from the party as soon as the allegations were made. The animal protection group, El Refugio, discovered the photos in February this year. Apparently the men were on a rabbit hunt at a finca in Toledo province last October when they decided to go on a cat killing spree because, as they told the Guardia Civil, they hated cats.
