Brave entrepreneurs may want to take advantage of China’s willingness to buy the jellyfish that are already plaguing bathers along the Andalucian coastline. There’s just one catch, however. Chinese buyers want the jellyfish to be as big as one caught last year off the Granada coast. The diameter of its head was more than one metre and it weighed ten kilos, but most jellyfish are much smaller than that. A representative of the Chinese embassy commercial section has already visited Motril to discuss the matter with the Costa Tropical’s Municipalities’ Association. The Association has agreed to contact the embassy in Madrid when the next plague of jellyfish is sighted so they can send someone to check out the size, which apparently has no bearing on how tasty they are.
