The latest opinion poll shows that Spaniards worry more about unemployment and the current economic situation – 52% and 51% respectively – with terrorism coming third at 31%. And nearly a third were still undecided about voting for the Socialists or the Partido Popular on the eve of the March 9th election. The rest had made up their minds before the election campaign even started. Nearly half of those questioned said the problem of Basque terrorism should be solved by the police rather than by talks with ETA.
