Pizarra will get its “punto limpio” this week – more than 18 months after it was inaugurated. A council spokesman the delay had been caused by the time it took to get all the necessary permits together. He said it would be able to handle up to 17,000 kilos of solid waste a day. Some 3,000 pamphlets have been distributed among the town’s residents to stress the importance of delivering their old fridges, TV sets and other household goods to the punto limpio rather than dumping them next to a rubbish container.
