Former BBC journalist Clarence Mitchell, the media spokesman in the case of Madeleine McCann, is reported to have agreed to help in the search for Amy Fitzpatrick, the 16-year Irish girl who vanished on New Year’s Day from Mijas Costa. Amy’s mother, Audrey, and her partner Dave Majon spoke to Mitchell, who is apparently willing to give his advice for free, before their planned trip to Ireland for a new media campaign aimed at the thousands of Irish tourists who will visit the Cvlosta del Sol this summer. According to a local newspaper, Mitchell has already criticised some residents of the Riviera del Sol urbanisation in Mijas, where Amy vanished, where posters for her are being torn down as soon as they are put up, because they are worried about the effect the case may have on tourism.
