Ronda’s National Police chief, José Antonio Alés, told a meeting of provincial police chiefs and specialised police units, held in the town last week, that the local crime rate had dropped by 7% in the last two months, while arrests have risen by 10%. Mayor Antonio Marín said this put Ronda well below the provincial and national average crime rate. More than 30 provincial police units were at the meeting to discuss the crime situation in the province and to design plans to provide the public with a better service.
