If you’re wandering along the beaches at of San Pedro Alcántara the weekend of May 17th and 18th, you may think you’ve walked into a time warp and back to the Normandy landings. But it’s only some 300 actors from across Spain who will be recreating some of the best battle scenes from the history of cinema. The first scene will take place on the Salida beach in San Pedro. Locals are invited to hire costumes and take part in the action which, according to Marbella town hall, is being held to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Manuel Gutiérrez de la Concha, the Marques of Duero, who founded the first farming community at San Pedro Alcántara.
