Consumer credits have fallen in Spain for the first time in 15 years. Indicators for the first three months of this year show that the amount of credit taken out is down some 30%, compared to an increase last year of some 15% during the same period. Credit for car financing has also dropped by between 6% and 10%. Bad debts on credit cards rose by 22% and experts warn that due to the economic slowdown an increasing number of people will have difficulty in returning the money borrowed.
