Coín Town Council will invest 300,000 euros over the next four years in a plan to encourage reading. Part of the money will go to updating the books at the Municipal Library while most of the rest will be invested in activities such as the public reading of horror stories in the San Agustin Park and a variety of book-related workshops. Another project involves converting the Fernando de Hermosa y Santiago Library into the Malaga province’s third Intercultural Library, which will cater to all the foreigners who make up 20% of the empadronamiento in the town. The council will also create the Coín Cultural Fund Foundation which will bring together all the books and texts ever written about the town.
