Not to be outdone by Prime Minister José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, Junta de Andalucia President Manuel Chaves also has more women (eight), than men (seven) in his new Cabinet. Sr Chaves was sworn in for his sixth term as Junta president last Friday. Neither Javier Arenas (Partido Popular) nor Diego Valderas (Izquierda Unida) attended the swearing-in ceremony. However, Deputy Prime Minister Teresa Fernández de la Vega, turned up, accompanied by Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos, Interior Minister Alfredo Pérez Rubalcaba, Development Minister Magdalena Alvarez, Health Minister Bernat Soria and Equality Minister Bibiana Aido.
