Police in Velez-Malaga have arrested a Moroccan suspected of robbing a 77-year old German, identified only as Johannes G., G., who was found in the doorway of his house on March 18th. He was badly beaten and died from his injuries last week. The man was identified as Mafound T., who was released from jail in January after serving only two years of a ten-year sentence for robbery with violence in Velez-Malaga in 2005. However, they said that was only one of the 34 false identities and the three nationalities – Algerian, Moroccan and Lebanese – the man had been using for several years. There are 66 entries on his police record for a variety of crimes, including drug trafficking and sexual harassment. The police said that several victims of theft in the area have already recognised him in police identification parades.
