VICTIMS UNMASKED

With a lot of help from security cameras all over the city of Malaga, the Local Police there were able to arrest more than 100 people who falsely alleged they had been victims of a crime. The police said many people pretend to be a victim of a robbery in order to collect an insurance of 300 euros. Others claim their credit cards were stolen to hide excessive spending from their spouses. There are also cases of people saying their car had been stolen to cover the fact that they themselves had used it for a crime. Once umasked, the “victims” face fines of between 1,100 and 4,400 euros. In cases where insurance companies are involved, they can end up in jail.
