The main hearing of the Malaya corruption case is scheduled to open in the spring of next year at the new “Ciudad de la Justicia” (Justice City) in Malaga capital. The closing of the instruction stage of the case will take up rest of this year. Some 600 witnesses will be called during the duration of the main hearing, which is expected to last for more than a year. Some 600 witnesses will be called and the 86 people accused so far have 100 lawyers representing them. Some magistrates have said the case should be heard in Malaga’s Congress Hall, given the size of the proceedings, but the Junta de Andalucía has said that the new Justice City currently has 800 square metres not in use on which a new large court could be built in time.
