The CAC Contemporary Arts Centre in Malaga is showing a selection of the work of young up-and-coming British artist, Jason Martin. The exhibition, called Nomad, consists of different coloured oils painted on aluminium which give an effect of contours and reflected light as the viewer moves around the gallery. Jason acknowledges the influence of German painter Casper David Friedrich, who was one of the first to explore the link between light and texture. Born in the Channel Islands in 1970, Martin now lives and works in London and became known first at the famous ‘Sensation’ exhibition in 1997 where his work was alongside the Chapman brothers, Damien Hurst and Sarah Lucas. The exhibition can be seen at the CAC until April 6th, from Tuesday to Sunday between 10am to 8pm. Admission is free.
