According to the Rural Development Group (GDR), only 10% of the agricultural products in the Guadalhorce Valley – mainly olives and citrous fruits – can be classified as ecologically friendly. As a result, the GDR has just launched an advisory service to encourage the spread of natural production methods to other crops in Alhaurín el Grande, Coín, Cártama, Alora, Pizarra, Valle de Abdalajís and Almogía. A GDR spokesman said a higher production would benefit both producers and consumers.
