Junta de Andalucia Manuel Chaves promised last week to create 600,000 new jobs over the next fours year if he is re-elected on March 9th. It forms part of his draft election programme which will be presented to the Socialist Convention to be held in Granada on February 2nd and 3rd for ratification. His other promises include the creation of 65,000 companies to increase Andalucian exports by 33% and to reduce a variety of taxes, including the inheritance tax. He also plans to employ another 15,000 teachers and create 100,000 places in nurseries for children under the age of three. During the presentation of the draft programme, Sr Chaves said: “As Socialists, we know that we have to deliver what we promise.”
